Mark Brumwell

President

Mr. Brumwell has over twenty-five years of experience in environmental consulting and construction assisting a wide range of corporations, investment bankers, mortgage bankers and real estate investors. He has successfully completed due diligence support, including Phase I and II environmental site assessments, asbestos inspections, and lead paint inspections, for hundreds of property transactions nationwide.

Mr. Brumwell earned his B.S. in Biology/Pre-Medicine from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He is OSHA 40-hour certified, is an AHERA-certified asbestos inspector, a State of Illinois licensed asbestos inspector, and lead inspector/Risk Assessor. Mr. Brumwell also earned his Master of Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Mangement.

Jeff Stofferahn

Senior Associate

Mr. Stofferahn has over thirty years of experience as an environmental consultant and regulator. Jeff has extensive experience in Superfund (CERCLA) and hazardous waste (RCRA) related projects, including, field investigations, site characterizations and extent-of-contamination investigations, environmental due diligence and compliance assessments related to real property transfer and financial transactions. Environmental and health-based risk assessment studies. Remedial feasibility, development and implementation of cleanup and risk management strategies for environmentally impaired (brownfield) properties and uncontrolled waste sites. Planning, management and technical oversight of remedial actions. Leaking underground tank assessments and closures. Management of solid and hazardous waste. RCRA permitting and closure. Storm water management. Emergency response to oil and hazardous waste spills. Contingency and spill planning. Regulatory compliance, including liaison with regulatory agencies. Regulatory inspections under solid and hazardous waste, and Clean Water Act regulations. Evidentiary investigations of illegal waste disposal operations.

Mr. Stofferahn earned his B.S. in BS, Zoology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. He is OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and supervisor certified, and has successfully completed the ISO 14000 Implementation/Internal Auditor Training.

Kerry Van Allen

Senior Geologist Associate

Mr. Kerry Van Allen has over 30 years’ experience as a professional geologist within the environmental consulting field.  His experience includes environmental due diligence, soil/groundwater/vapor gas investigations, remediation, tank removal, waste management, and landfill capping/closures. Clientele included private sector, industrial, municipal and government agencies.

Mr. Van Allen has extensive knowledge with Brownfield projects, working closely with municipalities, legal, financial, developers and large industrial clientele. Studies focused on impact by VOCs, SVOCs, pesticides, herbicides, PCBs and heavy metals. Studies were conducted in support of property acquisitions or sales, legal support, lending and/or financial risk management Corrective actions resulted in obtaining regulatory compliance, and obtaining NFR and/or NFA determination letters for both the investors and responsible parties involved.

Mr. Van Allen has experience in working with the IEPA, WDNR and IDEM state voluntary cleanup programs. Also, he has worked on projects associated with U.S. Department of Defense, Energy and U.S. Interior Bureau of Land Management.

Mr. Van Allen earned his B.S. in Geology at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He has a Professional License with the State of Illinois and Indiana, along with an Asbestos Building Inspection Certification with the State of Wisconsin. Kerry is also 40-Hour OSHA certified with annual renewals for Health & Safety.

Donna Christides

Associate

Ms. Donna Christides has more than 25 years of experience conducting Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, Geologic Subsurface Investigations, Underground Storage Tank assessments and remediation and other varied environmental consulting tasks. She has performed/managed more than one thousand Phase I ESAs.

Ms. Christides’ primary responsibility is to conduct Phase I ESAs in accordance with ASTM E 1527 standard and AAI and to educate our clients on the results of the report.

Ms. Christides graduated from Elmhurst College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Geography. She also holds certifications as an AHERA Asbestos Building Inspector and she has successfully completed the 40-hour OSHA Hazardous Materials/Waste Site Operations course.
